MISSION The St. Mary’s Sisterhood at St. Elias Orthodox Church is an organization open to all women of the parish. It is a major fund-raising arm of the parish and is responsible for:
Financial support of special Church needs,
The Church School and its activities, and
Outreach to the local and national communities.
We meet monthly for fellowship and for planning and working on various projects. Some of our regular activities include an annual Cabbage Roll Dinner (this is a wonderful occasion for the many younger women in the parish to learn how to bake delicious, traditional foods), sale of hand-made crafts, and sale of home-made baked goods.

The Sisterhood assists The Haven, a faith-based, non-profit human service organization serving the needs of homeless men, women and children in Battle Creek and the surrounding communities. The Haven’s mission is to proclaim the Good News of our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ so that all may experience His love; to clothe, feed and shelter the homeless in His Name; and disciple individuals to become spiritually, physically and emotionally functional and able to live optimally within God’s Kingdom and the community.
